Future author, Matthew, shows me a thing or two about drawing!

A display of banned and challenged books at Calgary’s Signal Hill Library for Freedom to Read Week last month. The skinny one in the middle looks especially menacing.

An old Max and Pinky poster will do for a Saint Patrick’s Day post!

Hey gang. I’ll be at the Tucson Festival of Books this Sunday (March 15th) doing a couple of panel discussions and signing some books. Here are the particulars. Hope to see you there!

Hey gang!
My latest book is in stores today! Okay, Andy! is an early reader in the Jump-Into-Chapters series, and it’s about a curmudgeon of an alligator named Andy and his incorrigible coyote friend, Preston. Three chapters, ninety-six pages. The story is perfect for the small person that’s feeling confident with picture books but isn’t quite ready for text-heavy chapter books.
And if you’re still not sold, talk to the good people at Publishers Weekly. They said, "Whether readers are the ‘Preston’ or ‘Andy’ in their own friendships, they’ll find this duo’s interactions irresistible." A starred review!
Anyway, you can find all the details, check out a few pages, and link to your favorite bookstore right … HERE! For some reason the synopsis isn’t posted in the usual places, but I’ve got my team of interns and their extended family members working around the clock to resolve the issue. Oh, and check back soon. I’m going to get an Okay, Andy! finger puppet activity up on the site. Perfect cubicle-neighbor procrastination for you older folks.
Back to work!

p.s. Almost forgot! Book two in the series, ANDY ALSO, will be out this Fall! More on that soon. Hey gang!

I also hope my next book gets great ratings. Some fantastic Flying Beaver Brothers art and flattering words from Kienan in Florida!

OKAY, ANDY! hits shelves in less than a month (2/11/14)! Have you see the preview pages?

Morning visitors. They had some disagreements. Morning visitors. They had some disagreements.

Andy and Preston are featured on the cover of the Spring 2014 Blue Apple Books catalog! (Though Andy hopes its circulation is limited.)

Again, it’s down the road, but Flying Beaver Brothers 5 review copies just landed looking very season-appropriate! Sneak peeks as we get closer to Fall 2014.

This one has been giving me the stink eye all day long.

It’s a bit down the road (August 5, 2014), but Random House just posted the cover of The Flying Beaver Brothers and the Hot-Air Baboons (book 5), and I couldn’t resist sharing.

You thought that seagulls were trouble? Try censors! Someone recently tried to remove Two Dumb Ducks from a public library in Ontario for “insensitivity.” Think they even read it? Hmm, doubtful.

Got a problem with this sort of behavior? Visit the good people at Freedom to Read up in Canada, and, of course, The American Library Association here in the US!
